WissProKMU - Future of Work
As part of the BMBF funding line "Future of Work: SMEs - Innovative and Social", the scientific project "WissProKMU - Future of Work: Designing and Networking" addresses the overarching goal of advancing technological and social innovations in SMEs and supporting SMEs in implementing their digitization strategy. To this end, the project groups are networked with each other, the overarching transfer of results for SMEs is supported, and social discourse is promoted. In addition, WissProKMU is working with the collaborative projects from the measure to identify options for the dissemination and exploitation of their results, as well as further research needs and follow-up opportunities for the funding line. The electrical measurement of inherent bearing properties
The electrical measurement of inherent bearing properties makes it possible to measure the condition of the lubricant in rolling and plain bearings. The special feature here is not only the measuring technique, but also the evaluation of the data, so that conclusions can be drawn about the lubricant viscosity from different operating conditions.
We conduct research in publicly funded projects
OFFIS has been conducting research and development in publicly funded research projects together with companies and other research institutions for more than 30 years. We have many years of experience in applying for and implementing collaborative projects at European and national level.

Carbon Nano Yarns
The IFW Dresden is the first and only institution in Germany that can produce pure carbon yarns from vapor phase deposition. The method differs from conventional methods, which merely apply carbon nanotubes to an artificial carrier thread. In contrast, the well-known outstanding properties of carbon nanotubes can be directly transferred to the microscale by vapor phase deposition. The yarns are a promising material for industrial applications due to their high thermal and electrical conductivity and mechanical strength. For mass production, the research group is currently looking for suitable industrial partners who would like to advance this key technology.
