Measuring the conductivity of textile fibers

The trend to integrate electrical and electronic systems into textiles in order to equip clothing and fabrics with innovative functions is finding application in more and more sectors and industries. The conductivity of fabrics plays a crucial role in this. The Loresta-GX measuring instrument from Nittoseiko Analytech offers fast and accurate determination of the specific conductivity, as well as the surface and volume resistivity of conductors and semiconductors in the lower resistance range.

The Loresta-GX measurement method is based on the four-wire method and was developed to eliminate the influence of contact resistance. The basis for this is two separate circuits. The measuring heads of the Loresta series therefore have four electrodes. These eliminate line and connector resistances as well as contact resistances. Significantly more precise resistance measurements are thus achieved.

A color 7.5" TFT LC touch display facilitates data reading and menu navigation. In addition, the data can be transferred to a PC via the USB interface. The measurements are based on the ASTM D 991, ISO 2878 and ISO 1853 standards, respectively.

As the exclusive representative of Nittoseiko Analytech in the DACH and Benelux region, NH Instruments offer comprehensive consulting and technical support. Measurement of samples as a service is also possible. In this case, the customer receives a detailed test report for each measurement.
